oapen.abstract.otherlanguageThis paper looks at Harry Braverman’s analysis of the evolution of work in capitalist society. In the mid-1970s, the author investigated the development of labour in the capitalist social and production context, drawing on Marx’s views of labour and society. The introduction briefly introduces the author, followed by his views of work, i.e. the idea of the destruction of qualifications and the consequent degradation of work, the emergence of new professions closely rooted in the social context, and the reflection on the approach used to study the world of work.
