On the basis of the Vitae derived from an initial narrative nucleus comprising the Gesta episcopi conceived in Pistoia during the fourteenth century, the text identifies some themes of interest taken from both the Vallombrosan and Pistoia traditions. The essay analyses the salient moments of the activity and thought of this important figure for the history of his congregation and the contemporary Church. | |
