Chapter Un eroe, una battaglia, una storia: il nuovo allestimento del Museo Ferrucciano di Gavinana
Abstract
The Ferrucciano Museum of Gavinana, in the municipality of San Marcello Piteglio (PT) is a small museum structure dedicated to the conservation of relics and the memory of the battle of Gavinana on 3 August 1530, during which the national hero Francesco Ferrucci met his death. Inaugurated in 1931, the museum had a new layout in the 1950s, which remained unchanged until it closed in 2017. While a delicate restoration and functional recovery project is currently underway for a reopening, the author – member of the scientific committee in charge of studying the new layout of the Museum – here traces a brief history of the museum collection and presents for the first time the guidelines that underlie the valorization project.
