oapen.abstract.otherlanguageAs part of a digital lecture series organized at Justus Liebig University Giessen in the winter semester of 2021/22 to mark this anniversary, renowned scientists from various disciplines gave valuable lectures on the topics and challenges of Islamic theology in the digital age. Even though the event took place online, the lectures offered participants opportunities to address the challenges that may arise for Islamic theology and religious education in the age of digitalization, to reflect on them and to discuss solutions. The aim was to stimulate an interdisciplinary discourse. This gave rise to the idea of publishing the lectures in this volume.
